Aidy (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a consumer mobile and web application that helps people living with digestive disorders monitor symptoms, food intake, and stool characteristics. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, the limited ways we share it, and the choices and rights available to you. By using Aidy, you agree to the practices described below.

This app is a self-tracking and educational tool only. It does not provide medical, clinical, or diagnostic advice, and it does not connect you with healthcare providers. Always consult a qualified clinician before making medical decisions.

 

2. Information We Collect

  • Account Data – name, email address, and hashed password used to create and secure your account and to communicate with you. This information is provided directly by users.

  • Health & Wellness Data (entered voluntarily in-app) – Digestive disorder diagnosis details, symptom ratings, stool characteristics (frequency, form, urgency), diet entries (foods, time, quantities), and personal notes.

  • Device & Usage Data (collected automatically) – IP address, device identifiers, app version, log files, crash reports, cookies, and similar technologies that help us maintain functionality, security, and aggregated analytics.
     

Sensitive health data is collected only when you choose to provide it.

 

3. How We Use Your Information

We process your information to:

  • Provide, operate, and improve the app’s core features.

  • Communicate with you (e.g., password resets, feature announcements, research invitations you opt into).

  • Perform aggregated analytics to understand usage trends and enhance reliability.

  • Detect and prevent fraud, comply with legal obligations, and protect our rights and the safety of users.
     

Our legal bases include your consent, performance of our contract with you, legitimate interests, and compliance with law.

  • Service Providers (Processors) – trusted vendors that supply cloud hosting, database storage, analytics, customer-support software, and email delivery. Each vendor maintains safeguards providing protections at least as strict as those in this Privacy Policy, including prohibitions on selling or using your data for their own marketing.

  • Legal or Safety Reasons – if legally compelled or necessary to enforce our rights or protect users.

  • Business Transfers – in connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale. Any successor must honor this Privacy Policy or notify you of new terms and options.

We are based in the United States. By using Aidy from another country, you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in the U.S. and other jurisdictions where our service providers operate, subject to appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

  • GDPR (EEA/UK) – rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, object, and data portability; right to withdraw consent at any time.
